Dr. Panzer completed his medical school at University of Hamburg in Germany and then did his Anesthesiology residency training at St. Lukes - Roosevelt Hospital in New York City, USA. He then went on to complete a 1-year fellowship in Critical Care Medicine at Columbia University Medical Center in New York City, NY.

Dr. Panzer is currently an Assistant Professor in Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine at Columbia University, College of Physicians & Surgeons in New York. His field of practice is Ultrasound guided Regional Anesthesiology, Liver transplantation Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine with the focus on Cardiothoracic and Surgical Intensive care. One of his main interests is Critical Care Bedside Ultrasonography and is responsible for the bedside ultrasonography education in the department of Anesthesiology at Columbia University.
